Arrow Down Organization

ASCM Orange County Chapter is a California non-profit corporation, formed in 1971 as the American Production and Inventory Control Society, Chapter #70 Orange County, entity number C0625525.

 

 

Chapter Governance

  • ASCM Orange County Chapter is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Officers and Directors duly elected by vote of chapter members and additional Directors appointed by the chapter President and approved by the Board. Individuals must be chapter members to be on the Board of Directors.

  • Elected positions include President, President Elect, Vice President Education, Vice President Programs, Vice President Membership, Vice President Publicity, Vice President Finance, Vice President Administration and up to six Directors.

  • Each BoD serves for a chapter fiscal year beginning July 1 and ending June 30 of the following year.

 

 

  • BoD meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at the DoubleTree Club Hotel in Santa Ana. Meetings are open to all chapter members. Members planning to attend who are not on the BoD are requested to advise the President in advance at president@ascm-oc.org.

 

 

  • The activities of the BoD are governed by written Bylaws which are part of the corporate record and a set of Policies and Procedures. Both are updated by vote of the BoD.

  • Bylaws require the VP Finance to present monthly financial reports for BoD approval at each BoD meeting. .

 

 

Board of Director members are elected annually through a process specified in chapter Bylaws.

  • By the February BoD meeting the President appoints a Nominating Committee of at least three members

  • Nominations are presented to the presiding BoD for approval at the April BoD meeting

  • Nominations are reported to the chapter during April and announced at the April PDM

  • Additional nominations by chapter members may be submitted at the April PDM

  • The election occurs during the first half of May

  • Election results are announced at the May PDM

  • The newly elected BoD begins it’s one-year term on July 1

  • ASCM International is an important and close affiliate of Orange County ASCM. See more information in the ASCM Family section on this page.

 

 

  • DoubleTree Club Hotel Santa Ana acts as the headquarters for ASCM Orange County chapter, providing facilities and hospitality services for most chapter events including PDM Dinner Meetings, Board of Director Meetings and most course and workshop offerings.

Arrow Down ASCM International
  • ASCM International is the parent organization for affiliated organizations around the globe, including Partners like ASCM Orange County Chapter. It provides certain services to the chapter such as registration for members, conducts annual conferences, publishes a monthly magazine and other knowledge articles. ASCM International owns and maintains the Operations Management Body of Knowledge (OMBoK) and supplies educational content used by the chapter.
